Tortoise
The fulu beat the kalulu, but it is endangered of losing the
race for survival in Zambia. With pressures of the pet trade,
bush meat demand and late burning, Zambia’s tortoise population
is decreasing. Students also touch and see how hard a
tortoise’s shell really is!
Story telling
As your class walks along the Wildlife Park and Botanical
Gardens, they will be introduced to animal behaviour through a
series of stories and poems.
Wildlife Drama
Your students use their imagination as they are given
animals, scenes and environments to act out. The animal maker
leads your children on an enjoyable adventure to use their
creative side.
Animal Creations
Pupils come up with their own animal creations with various
natural materials and recycled items. This arts and crafts
session is sure to please any parent.

Grade 4-6
Owl
Learn about the silent ways of the owl, its folklore, and how
these birds help people. Find out interesting ways this
predator gets its prey and learn about its nocturnal nature.
Nature Walk
Explore the gardens and be amazed at the diversity that lies in
the plant kingdom. This exploratory walk crosses the many
textures, sounds, shapes, colours and smells that nature offers
all those who take this journey.
Wildlife shopping
Let your students create their own wildlife park. They receive
a budget and buy whatever they wish to make their wildlife
sanctuary a success. They develop maths skills, have fun and
find out what it takes to manage animals.

Grade 6-7
Animal Enrichment
(This is a 2 hour session)
Learn the basics of animal management. Then formulate your
findings to design one of our animal exhibits in order to enrich
the lives of our animal friends. Dive into arts and crafts, and
use recycling to create a new enclosure design or food
arrangement for our education animals.
Elephant
(This is a 1 hour session)
Is an elephant destructive, or, is it an interior designer?
Find out as your students act in a mini drama and witness the
cycle of life in the bush.
Wild dog
Students find out how special Zambia is in this lesson. Find
out why wild dogs are endangered by conducting your own research
on these rare carnivores that call Zambia home.

Grade 8-9
Soil Experiments
Here students get their hands dirty as they conduct their own
scientific soil experiments. Understand the importance of
determining soil quality and how to maintain its integrity
through the growing seasons.
Tree and Bamboo Basics
Help reduce the pressures of deforestation in Zambia through
conservation. We all use trees to survive, but if we loose all
of our trees we will perish. Learn about native trees of Zambia
and how to plant them. Also, find out how one special grass
species is a fantastic way to preserve our precious tree
resources. Take a bamboo segment to plant in your local
community, school or home. Do your part in saving the earth in
this fun lesson.

Grade 8-12
Communications by display
Why is a flycatcher’s tail so long? Why is the nose very
important to a leopard? Find out how animals communicate
without using words. This is a fun lesson that will leave you
amazed with the animal kingdom.
Medicinal Plants
Come and enter Munda Wanga’s natural pharmacy. Explore the
medicinal world of plants and how they aid in human’s well
being. With this enlightening tour, you will be compelled to
conserve plants’ well being for your survival.
Habitats and Ecology
(These are 2-hour sessions)
Wetlands
Zambian Wetlands are abundant with wildlife. Learn about
the complexities of a wetland and Zambia’s very own unique
animals that live there. Then tour our wetland area and observe
weaver birds at work and by conducting a pond study, find out
what smaller things live in the water. It is a full experience
of lecture and practical.
Grasslands
What lies hidden in all of that grass, and what animals depend
on grasslands for their survival? Discover by solving the
complex web of life (food chain) puzzle. Watch grazers and
browsers at work in our grassland area, always keeping an eye
out for something lurking in the grass.
Woodland
Mopani woodlands are very special to Zambia. Find out why this
habitat is so important and why Zambia is losing these woodlands
at an alarming rate. Look at many beautiful birds that find
refuge in woodland areas. But watch out! Danger lurks from
above.

Grade 9 to 12
Guided Tours
(Two hour sessions)
Territoriality
Why do baboons bark? Why do lions roar? Find out as you
explore the park and observe the animals. Students are given a
riddle at the beginning of the program and answer it by the time
they watch the lions eating.
Owls
Walk along with one of our guides as they take you on an
eventful journey about the secret world of owls. Play a game to
see how nocturnal animals hunt and find out why owls are special
predators. Dissect owl pellets and find out what is inside.
Wild dog
This tour takes you into the world of the wild dog. Listen to
Zambian folklore about wild dogs, find out why these interesting
hunters are endangered and make behavioural observations as you
watch them feed.
